Our Process

What to expect, step by step

If you've never built or remodeled before, it helps to know what's coming. Here's how a project goes with us, start to finish.

  1. A grandfather and grandchild building something together by hand
    01Step 1 of 5

    Consultation

We meet at your house or lot, hear what you have in mind, and talk through scope, budget, and timing.

    • Free on-site visit
    • Walk the space together
    • A rough idea of cost and what's feasible
  2. Architectural plans with drafting pencils and a scale ruler
    02Step 2 of 5

    Proposal & Planning

You get a written proposal. Then we work out the design details, selections, and schedule together.

    • Itemized proposal with clear allowances
    • Design and material selections
    • A written schedule with key milestones
  3. Wood-framed home under construction against a blue sky
    03Step 3 of 5

    Permits & Prep

We take care of permits, HOA approval, and ordering materials, so work can start on time.

    • City permits and HOA approval
    • Long-lead materials ordered early
    • Site prep and protecting your home
  4. Hands measuring and cutting lumber
    04Step 4 of 5

    Construction

We build it. You get regular updates, a clean job site, and no surprise charges.

    • One point of contact the whole way
    • Regular updates and walkthroughs
    • Changes priced and approved in writing first
  5. Bright kitchen with a waterfall quartz island and brass pendant lights
    05Step 5 of 5

    Walkthrough & Warranty

We walk through the finished job with you, fix anything on the punch list, and stand behind the work.

    • Final walkthrough together
    • Punch list finished
    • Workmanship warranty

Our Commitments

Staying in touch

  • Everything in writing

Proposals, schedules, and change orders get written down and signed off before work moves ahead.

  • Regular updates

You'll hear from us regularly: what got done, what's next, and anything we need you to decide.

  • Realistic schedules

We'd rather give you an honest timeline than an optimistic one. If something changes, you'll know right away.

  • Respect for your house

We cover the floors, keep the dust down, and clean up before we leave each day.

Getting Ready

Before your consultation

You don't need any of this to get started. But if you have it handy, it helps us give you better answers sooner.

  • 1A list of what you like and don't like about the space now
  • 2Photos you've saved from Pinterest, Houzz, or anywhere else
  • 3A rough budget
  • 4Any plans, surveys, or HOA guidelines you already have
  • 5When you'd like it done, and any dates that matter (a baby on the way, family coming to visit, the holidays)

Ready for step one?

Tell us a little about it. We'll come out, take a look, and give you a written estimate. It's free, and there's no pressure.
